Why I started Local Legends Orlando
Most people only see the finished version of a business. They see the logo, the storefront, the work truck, the website, or the social media page.
What they do not always see is what happened before that.
They do not see the late nights, the risks, the unexpected setbacks, the first customer, or the moment someone decided to turn an idea into something real.
I started Local Legends Orlando because I wanted to learn those stories and give local business owners, entrepreneurs, organizations, and community builders a place to share them.
Every business has a story worth preserving.
More than another local publication
My goal is not simply to build another directory or local magazine.
I want Local Legends Orlando to become a place where people can discover not only what a business does, but who built it, why they started, what they have overcome, and what they hope to do next.
For now, that begins with written features and practical resources for local businesses. Over time, I plan to expand Local Legends into podcast conversations and video interviews so these stories can be heard and seen in the business owners’ own words.
I hope it eventually becomes an archive of the people building Central Florida one business, organization, and idea at a time.
A little about my background
I am also the owner of BastionTech, where I build custom websites and help businesses improve their SEO, online visibility, and digital systems.
That work has shown me something important: some of the best businesses are not always the easiest ones to find.
A company may provide outstanding service, care deeply about its customers, and have an incredible story, but still struggle with an outdated website, weak search visibility, or limited marketing resources.
Local Legends Orlando is one way I can help close that gap by giving good local businesses another place to be discovered.
The story always comes first
Local Legends Orlando is not built around a hidden sales pitch.
The purpose of each feature is to listen, document the story, and introduce more people to the person or team behind the business.
If I notice an opportunity to help someone improve their website, SEO, or online presence, that may become a separate conversation afterward. There is no obligation, and it does not determine whether a story deserves to be featured.
The story always comes first.
Where I hope this goes
Five years from now, I would love for Local Legends Orlando to have documented hundreds of local stories, recorded meaningful podcast conversations, produced video interviews, and become a trusted place to discover the people doing good work throughout Central Florida.
I want business owners to feel seen. I want neighbors to find businesses worth supporting. I want future entrepreneurs to hear honest stories from people who have already taken the leap.
Most of all, I want Local Legends Orlando to feel personal, useful, and genuinely connected to the community it represents.
