BastionTech LLC: A Local Legends Story

Meet Noel Bass, founder of BastionTech LLC, and learn how a passion for technology, software development, and helping small businesses grow led to creating custom websites, effective local SEO strategies, and Local Legends Orlando to celebrate the entrepreneurs who make Central Florida extraordinary.

Their story

I've always enjoyed building things. Long before BastionTech existed, I was the person friends and family would come to when they needed help with computers, websites, or figuring out why technology wasn't working the way it should.

Professionally, I work as a software engineer building enterprise applications used by government agencies, but I've always had a passion for helping small businesses. Over the years, I noticed that many local business owners were paying a lot of money for websites and marketing that looked impressive but didn't actually help them grow.

That's what eventually led me to start BastionTech. I wanted to offer something different. Custom websites, honest advice, and SEO strategies that actually make sense. My goal has never been to sell people things they don't need. It's to build long-term relationships and give local businesses the tools they need to succeed online.

Along the way, I also started Local Legends Orlando because I realized so many incredible businesses have amazing stories that never get told. I wanted to create a place where entrepreneurs could share those stories and where our community could discover and support the people behind the businesses they see every day.

How it began

BastionTech started as side projects for friends, family, and local businesses while I continued working full-time in software development.

Each project led to another referral, and before long I realized there was a real need for someone who could combine professional software development with practical marketing and local SEO.

Rather than relying on templates or page builders, I decided to build everything from scratch. That gives me complete control over performance, SEO, and the user experience while allowing each website to be tailored to the client's goals.

As more businesses began seeing results, BastionTech naturally grew into what it is today.

What makes them unique

I think what makes BastionTech different is that I don't see myself as someone who builds websites. I see myself as someone who helps businesses grow.

A website is simply one piece of that.

I spend a lot of time educating clients about SEO, Google Business Profiles, automation, and how customers actually find businesses online. I want my clients to understand what we're doing rather than feeling dependent on an agency that keeps everything a mystery.

Because every website is custom built, I'm also able to create solutions that many template platforms simply can't offer. The end result is faster websites, stronger SEO foundations, and systems designed around the client's business instead of trying to force their business into a template.

A challenge they have overcome

One of the biggest challenges has been building trust.

There are a lot of marketing companies that overpromise and underdeliver, so many business owners are understandably skeptical. When someone has already spent thousands of dollars on a website that didn't produce results, they're cautious about trying again.

I've learned that trust isn't earned through sales pitches. It's earned by being honest, communicating clearly, and consistently delivering quality work.

That approach may take longer, but it leads to stronger relationships and clients who continue referring others.

A proud moment

The thing I'm most proud of isn't a particular website or project.

It's hearing from clients months later that their business is growing because of something we built together.

Whether it's a contractor getting more phone calls, a local business ranking higher on Google, or a client referring another business because they had a great experience, those moments remind me why I started BastionTech in the first place.

More recently, launching Local Legends Orlando has been especially meaningful because it allows me to support businesses beyond just web development by helping tell their stories and connect them with the local community.

Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs

Start before you feel ready.

It's easy to spend months planning the perfect business, logo, website, or strategy, but you learn far more by serving your first customer than by spending another month researching.

Also, focus on solving real problems instead of chasing trends.

If you genuinely help people, communicate well, and keep improving your craft, the business tends to follow.

Finally, don't stop learning. Technology changes constantly, and staying curious has been one of the biggest reasons I've been able to continue growing both personally and professionally.

What is next

Right now I'm really excited about Local Legends Orlando.

It's become a way to combine two things I genuinely enjoy: supporting local businesses and telling meaningful stories.

I'm looking forward to meeting entrepreneurs from all kinds of industries, learning what inspired them to start their businesses, and giving them a platform where their customers can get to know the people behind the logo.

At the same time, I'm continuing to expand BastionTech with new tools, automations, and SEO resources that help local businesses compete online without needing huge marketing budgets.

Helping local businesses grow is what motivates me every day, and I'm excited to see where both of these ventures lead.
